Actress and singer Janelle Monae is the latest headliner announced for the Glastonbury Festival.
The Pynk singer will headline the West Holts stage at the 2019 festival, taking place from 26-30 June.
This will be Monae’s second time at Glasto. The openly pansexual artist, in fact, last played the festival in 2011 with a memorable performance.
‘Visually it was just incredible. You could have watched it with the sound off,’ Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis told BBC 6 Music’s Lauren Laverne.
Who else is going to be at Glastonbury?
‘We’re really lucky to be able to get the bands we’ve got,’ she also said.
‘As you know we don’t pay the same amounts as others, so we’re kind of reliant on good feeling.’
Monae joins previously announced headliners Stormzy and Kylie Minogue, who will play the legend slot on Sunday afternoon.
After the announcement, Twitter users could barely contain the excitement.
@JanelleMonae so happy for you about Glastonbury. Prince would be so proud, I’ll know you’ll represent! 💜
